The new Caesars casino represents a bit of a landmark as it's the first big name Vegas casino to come online. Harrahs have teamed up with 888 to reposition the Caesars Palace casino brand to an Internet market, simply calling it Caesars. Although at the present time it is only available to players residing in the UK, it will be keenly watched I'm sure and if successful could be the prelude to more big brand names crossing over from the land-based market. But is it any good?

Caesars Casino Games

Caesars casino uses the 888 software platform which means that you will find a suite of games here that aren't available at most other online casinos. This has pros and cons. For me the biggest negative is that punters who play slots and video poker at land-based casinos will not be familiar with most of the games, the exception being "Cleopatra" which is present. For card game players however, the choice at Caesars online casino is pretty a decent replication of the game suite you'll find in a land-based casino.

The choice of casino games at Caesars online is smaller than at other online casinos listed here, especially if you are used to casinos that use Microgaming software such as 32Red Casino, or Roxy Palace casino. That's a limitation of the Random Logic proprietary casino software being used at Caesars although it does allow for 3rd party games to be incorporated. Two of Cryptologic's Marvel slots, the full range of which can be found at Intercasino, and "Cleopatra" from IGT being examples already present and I would expect we'll see more. But there is still a decent choice with around 40 slot games, several popular variants of video poker games and plenty of the usual suspects for traditional casino goers (Blackjack, Roulette etc).

When I ran this review off I downloaded Caesars casino and found installation and registration a breeze. I played several sessions and never needed to contact support thankfully. Depositing and withdrawing was easy - I used a Visa Debit and Neteller with no problems at all - however the speed of processing cashouts could be improved.

I cashed out for the first time and 12 hours later I received an email asking me for ID which, although standard practice for any online casino, is rarely requested as quickly as this and initially impressed me as I assumed processing had started. However I saw that the money itself was still in a "reverse pending" state which means I still had access to play with it As a regular player, this is one of my pet hates as it is clearly designed to tempt the player to play it back. On asking, I discovered that the Caesars casino "reverse" period is 48 hours, followed by another 24 hours for processing the withdrawal. Add onto that the time it takes money to traverse the UK BACS system and you're looking at 5-6 days (minimum) to get a cashout to a bank card. For e-Wallets this would be be closer to 3 days. Many of the casinos listed in the online casino reviews section here process cashouts the same or next day. This strikes me as odd when you consider many punters will join Caesars based on experience in land-based casinos and 6 day cashouts when you are used to walking out the door with your money might come as a bit of a nasty shock.

Conclusion

As far as the games go then generally I was more impressed with Caesars Casino than I expected to be. The Caesars Palace brand is generally very well regarded which IMO makes this a very safe casino to play and the backing of 888, who I've never warmed to before now, is this time a big plus in my book as their extensive experience should make the transition easy for Caesars and as a result, smoother for players. The cashout time is obviously a problem that will put many players off sticking at Caesars but if you can live with that, then this casino definitely offers something a bit different.

Finally it's probably also worth mentioning that they have a decent £500 100% match signup bonus at launch although the bonus is credited after you have completed the wagering requirements on your initial deposit.
