With the improvements in mobile broadband and the iphone lead upsurge in smartphone usage it is only natural that the mobile phone casino should be starting to get more attention. The first mobile phone casino was launched around 3 years ago - I remember seeing a demo at the ICE conference in London of the Spin3 offering which was a tie-in with Microgaming who make the industry leading software you see at many of the top online casinos and it was quite impressive.

While originally, mobile casinos were pretty much limited to Blackjack, Roulette and the odd 3 reel slot, things have moved on a bit and the games choice is steadily improving. Several of the casinos in my online casino reviews directory now offer a mobile phone casino to punters and on the whole, these are pretty good. The games are accurate representations of the games you se online, although in some instances the video graphics are replaced with animations, simply due to restrictions in bandwidth.

Below are a couple of brief reviews of mobile phone casinos I have tried and now added to the Online Casino UK website.

Ladbrokes was the first mobile casino I played on my Nokia N series phone. I was surprised to find that the games had to be downloaded individually, but the use of Spin3 software meant that the games on offer in the mobile version are identical to those at the main online casino from Ladbrokes. As I write, there are 15 games which include Blackjack, Roulette, 3 Card Poker and Baccarat along with several slots, most notably Tombraider and Thunderstruck. There is also basic video poker, a horse racing simulation game and keno.

The software is dead easy to install. All you have to do is send a text from your mobile phone to a given number and you receive back a text that includes an install link. The casino supports most current smartphones and a large number of regular mobile phones.

Using the same software and therefore having the same games is the excellent 32Red mobile casino. There is very little to differentiate 32Red from Ladbrokes, either in games or service to be honest although 32Red is my online casino of choice because it all seems a little more personalised. The Spin3/Microgaming tie-in isn't the only mobile phone casino software on the market, but it is currently the best - by a mile in my opinion.
